Warm Evenings, explained

Warm Evenings is both a symbol and a pragmatic personal repository.  On a very basic level, it will function as an easy and accessible outlet for a variety of my printed work.

Yet, it is also a very personal creation.  To me, this seemingly innocuous phrase is the verbal embodiment of the quest for something larger than oneself.  It is the chase for something grand no matter the outcome.  In short, it is the manifestation of the unspeakable feelings one has within themselves.

Though the phrase was born from a song pertaining to loss, I find it intoxicating in its paradoxical hopefulness.  Not because I find loss hopeful, but because a memory remains even after the devastation.  Warm Evenings is a celebration of memory and an unabashed expression of hope.

In theory, this blog will somehow straddle these different identities, offering a central location for those wishing to keep up with my work while also providing me an avenue of expression. Perhaps it is a bit too much, but I hope the results will be entertaining and insightful.  As Jimmy Cliff once sang, “only time will tell.”
